December, 2015 may offer the last best opportunity for amazing real estate investment opportunities in the Disney and greater Orlando area. After the first of the year prices are sure to rise, so now is the cheapest they will be. In addition many builder/developers are offering special incentives to those who buy and close before then end of the year in an attempt to clear inventories ahead of January 1, 2016. Added to that, in a talk before the Economic Club of Washington on December 3, 2015 Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen indicated she believed the economy had met all of the benchmarks established by the Central bank and that it was likely the Fed would begin raising its benchmark rate, albeit slowly, at its December 15-16, meeting after nearly a decade at or near a zero percent rate according to an article in USA Today. To date mortgage interest rates have remained fairly constant at around 3.95% on a conventional 30-year mortgage. An increase by the Fed would set off a round of mortgage rate increases placing mortgages out of reach for some buyers and generally pushing payments higher for all new borrowers.
